A Guide to Buying Refrigerated Food Display Cases

For most businesses, selling a food product is more than just making it and waiting for it to sell. Experts will tell you that profits will depend on how the owners display their items. This is proof that display cases are essential. Here one of the most reliable HVAC companies in the community shares some important tips and tricks when it comes to purchasing these display cases.

Types of Cases

1. Meat and seafood cases: These are intended to hold fresh meat, poultry and seafood at the ideal temperatures without the need for freezing.

2. Deli cases: These are known as refrigerated display cases. They have multiple shelves and hold at around 40° F.

3. Bakery cases: Refrigeration equipment service providers note that these feature shelves and hold at around the same temperature as deli cases with adjustable humidity.

4. Combination display cases: These are ideal for instances where more than one display case is needed because they  feature dual temperature zones.

5. Open display merchandisers: These are ideal for stocking fruits, vegetables and dairy products.

Things to Consider:

  • Appearance. While  it may often be overlooked, the appearance of your equipment is also beneficial. Depending on the type of business you have and the look you’re going for, you can choose either glass style.

  • Size: It’s always important to know the exact dimensions of your display case in order to figure out the best place to put it. More importantly, the measurements of your case must be considered so you’ll know for sure that all your items will fit inside.

  • Temperature. Curved display cases can come in three types: refrigerated, non-refrigerated and dual temperature. Keep in mind the case you choose will strongly depend on what you’ll be storing inside.
