Causes of Wine Cooler Malfunction

Regardless of what kind of wine you enjoy, the best way to store your beloved collection is to keep them in a wine cooler. This is especially true if you live in an area with hot weather. Having a wine cooler at your disposal will help you keep the wine at the perfect temperature and humidity level so you can enjoy it when it’s time to pop the cork.

In this post, one of the top HVAC installation companies, Cafco Services, shares some of the top causes of wine cooler malfunctions.

Thermoelectric cooler issues. If you have thermoelectric wine cooler issues, there might be a problem with your room’s temperature. This type of cooler doesn’t maintain a cool temperature, unlike compressor coolers. If the room temperature is higher than 50 to 80 degrees, then the fridge won’t work effectively, and you’ll need to cool down your room by adjusting the thermostat.

If you have a defective fan, your HVAC repair expert will suggest cleaning it if it’s clogged with dirt and debris. If not, you should have it replaced by a professional. Keep in mind that a thermoelectric cooler uses a fan to push hot air out, so the fan is essential to its function.

Compressor cooler issues. If your wine cooler isn’t performing well, this could be due to a faulty thermostat. Keep in mind that this supplies power to the cooler’s components, which enables it to keep the contents cool. If it’s malfunctioning, it won’t be able to cool your wine bottles. Unfortunately, a faulty thermostat can’t be fixed, and a replacement is your only option at this point.
